The Stowe Weekend of Hope will be held April 30-May 2, 2010 in the town of Stowe, Vermont. Registration for the event will open on Wednesday, February 24th. This annual event draws over 750 cancer survivors and their families and caregivers to this picturesque village. The weekend was started in 2001 as a retreat for cancer survivors and includes over 40 educational talks and networking events allowing survivors to learn the latest in research, treatment, wellness and spirituality. Survivors of all types of cancer are welcome to attend.
More than 20 lodging properties in Stowe offer free rooms to first time attendees and discounted rooms to returnees. Additionally, local restaurants and shops donate a portion of their proceeds to the Weekend of Hope. Local and regional physicians and specialists donate their time to present workshops, and there are many social and networking events throughout the three days.
The Stowe Weekend of Hope is presented by Stowe Area Association, Vermont Cancer Center, Central Vermont Hospital and Copley Hospital. For more information on sponsoring or participating, visit www.stowehope.org. |
